Comparing Major Green-Blue Dragon Decoction and Ephedra Decoction

What is Major Green-Blue Dragon Decoction (大青龙汤)?

Think of this as a great extinguisher of heat in the body of the Ephedra-type person. The pores on the exterior are not opening up. And heat is being accumulated inside.

It’s Ephedra Decoction plus plus. Plus what?

Major Green-Blue Dragon Decoction (大青龙汤) = Ephedra Decoction (麻黄汤) + Gypsum (石膏) + Ginger and Jujube (姜枣)

The  Calcium Sulphate (石膏) is key here. We have Ephedra and Cinnamon Twig bombing the place open, hence letting the heat out. Now, throw in the freeze and the temperature is going to fall much more quickly. Drastic measures for drastic situations.  Ginger and Jujube will help the body withstand the fallout that’s happening in there.

Let’s compare definitions:

2. Major Green-Blue Dragon Decoction (大青龙汤): All the above PLUS vexation and agitation (烦躁)
