Using Gardenia Jasminoides (山栀子) to clear heart heat

Gardenia is bitter and cold in nature and is well-known as an herb which can clear the heat from all three jiaos in the triple-burner. In his book On Cold Damage, Mr. Zhang Zhongjing dedicates some lines to its use to clear heart fire. The are three ways he uses Gardenia（栀子）here.
