Differentiating 热哮 and 寒包热哮 patterns

- 寒包热哮 has - the person will feel cold on the skin. For 热哮, the person will only feel heat in lungs.
- From this, I associate 寒包热哮 with the immune reaction that causes changes in the set point.
Look for perspiration:
- For 热哮, the person MAY be perspiring due to heat in his system - especially if it’s the 越婢加半夏汤-pattern. I believe that he MAY NOT perspire if it were just the 定喘汤-pattern.
- For 寒包热哮, the person will not perspire, because his immune reaction just manifests as such. His skin closes up and keeps the heat in.
- From this, I associate 寒包热哮 with the immune reaction that causes the skin to not allow sweat out.
Look for frustration(烦躁):
- Frustration will be present in 寒包热哮. Because the heat inside is not allowed out.
- - - - - - - - -
For now, I think that one difference between the two patterns is how your immune system reacts.
